Giancarlo Stanton breaks his bat on umpires head

The Yankees were playing the Rockies two days ago when an unfortunate situation took place in the 5th inning.

Yankees Giancarlo Stanton was at the plate in the 5th innings when he broke his bat on a swing and it separated in his follow through hitting the umpire in the neck.

Umpire is being carted off after Stanton's barrel broke off and hit him in the neck

The umpire had to be carted off before the game could resume in which the Yankees went on to win 10-3.

There has been no update on how the umpire is doing but it turns out the injury was not as serious as originally thought.
