A contract offer announced for Toronto Blue Jays Bo Bichette
A possible contract offer has been announced involving Blue Jays Bo Bichette
Bichette recently stated that he has yet to start a conversation with the Blue Jays about a possible extension but GM Ross Atkins recently stated that they plan is to keep Bichette in Toronto with Guerrero.
In a recent report, it was announced that if Bichette continues to play well he will likely land himself a $200 million contract or more while if he ends up having another bad year, his extension will be closer to $140 million.
In an article ranking 2025 free agents, MLB Trade Rumors' Steve Adams projected that Bichette would get a $200-plus million contract if the season went well, and a minimum of $140 million even if he had just an average year offensively. -Roberts
"If Bichette's early positive signs at the plate ultimately yield a rebound to his prior form, that age and production from a shortstop-capable middle infielder will likely push him north of $200MM," Adams wrote.
If Bichette happens to have a great season and the Blue Jays end up being able to landing him on a slight discount at around $180 million, fans would be ecstatic but hopefully the team doesn't take too long to make an offer.
While Atkins was able to get the deal done with Guerrero he made many wrong turns which hopefully he has learned from and will not do with Bichette since it ended up costing him a lot more money with Guerrero.
The Blue Jays need to figure out a way to keep both Bichette and Guerrero if they plan on having a successful future.
