The sports world received some sad news today as beloved TSN reporter Michael Whalen has passed away.
News broke this afternoon when it was revealed that Whalen passed away at 82 years old after a long battle with cancer.

After the news was announced, multiple former colleagues of Whalen posted online speaking on how great of a reporter he has but more importantly how incredible of a human being he was.

Whalen was the Montreal correspondent for TSN for more than two decades as he began in 1986 and would go on to retire in 2007.
During his time at TSN, Whalen covered baseball and the Montreal Expos until they were moved to Washington back in 2004 but is remembered in the city for his extensive coverage of the team throughout the years. He also covered the Montreal Canadiens and Montreal Alouettes iwhich included the 1986 and 1993 Stanley Cup finals.
Whalen is survived by his daughter Leah, Michele his wife and stepson Nicko.
Condolences go out to the entire Whalen family during this difficult time.
