OPS (On-base Plus Slugging) is crucial in MLB as it combines a player's ability to get on base (OBP) with their power stats (SLG). It provides an in depth measure of offensive production. It helps teams evaluate player performance, make lineup decisions, and assess player value in trades and contracts.
Bo Bichette clearly looks uncomfortable at the plate, he is hitting the ball hard in some scenarios but in general he is seeing absolutely no results. As a former All-Star and key piece to the lineup, he needs to figure smt out. Getting dropped down to the 5th spot in the lineup seems to be a step in the right direction.
