The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be still in negotiations with Bo Bichette but their strategy seems to be hurting them more than anything.

The Blue Jays focus as of right now seems to be bringing back Bichette and signing Kyle Tucker to a deal which apparently could hit around $430 million.

Blue Jays seems to be hurting their chances of bringing back Bo Bichette

Bichette has made it clear that he wants to remain with the Blue Jays but it looks like they are still holding back on making him an offer which the majority of teams interested are doing.
It seems as though most teams, including the Blue Jays, are waiting on Tucker to sign as it will set the market but this could end up hurting Bichette's chances of returning to Toronto.
It doesn't appear as though many firm offers have come in yet. Teams may be waiting for outfielder Kyle Tucker to set the market for position players, or to see if free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman stays in Boston, potentially closing a door for Bichette there. -Wilner

While other teams looking at Bichette might be let off the hook for not making him an offer right away, the Blue Jays who drafted him and have been with him for the last few years certainly do not fit into that group.
Waiting for the market to be set before making an offer and taking this amount of time before even starting to get a deal done could end up hurting the Blue Jays relationship with him.
On top of that, if the Blue Jays end up being the team that lands Tucker and then follow that up by making Bichette a low-ball offer after making him wait all that time, he will almost certainly sign elsewhere.
Even though Bichette has made it clear he wants to stay in Toronto and continue to play with Vladimir Guerrero Jr, this strategy could end up backfiring on them.
