Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer spoke with the media ahead of his start for game 3 which could end up being the last start of his career.
The Blue Jays named Scherzer as their starter for game 3 a few days ago followed by their lineup for the game this afternoon.

During a press conference, Scherzer stated that he is ready to compete and that he is here to win, adding that he does not need any additional motivation since he has a clubhouse full of teammates that want to win as well.
Max Scherzer:
«I'm here to compete. I'm here to win. I wouldn't be going backwards for any motivation. I have plenty of motivation. I'm here to win, and I got a clubhouse full of guys who want to win too. So we're a great team, and that's the only thing I need to think about.

Clearly Scherzer is dialed in for this outing and the Blue Jays have a ton of confidence in him as he pitched very well last game and manager John Schneider even joked this afternoon about how many coaches he will knock over in this game.
John Schneider is expecting the same levels of Madness tonight from Max Scherzer:
«Wonder how many coaches he'll knock over tonight.» #BlueJays

No only is this a huge game for Scherzer since it's in the World Series but there is also the fact that this could end up being his last start in the MLB if he decides to retire at the end of the year.
Even if Scherzer decides to pitch for another year or two, the chances of him returning to the World Series next year are very slim which is why this game means that much more to him.
If Scherzer does decided to call it a career after this series, what a career it has been for the future Hall of Famer.
