The Blue Jays have made it clear they are listening to all offers involving players on expiring deals which is why Yusei Kikuchi has been involved in a lot of trade rumors.
According to recent reports, the Red Sox could be a potential landing spot for the pitcher. While this would make sense for the Red Sox, they have made it clear that they are still uncertain what their plan is going into the deadline as they sit quite far behind the Orioles and Yankees.
One such ESPN writer, David Schoenfeld, recently posited the AL East rival Boston Red Sox as a club that should remain interested in the Kikuchi market. "The Red Sox are too good to punt, but too far behind the Yankees and Orioles in the division to go all-in with a major trade that would deplete the farm system," Schoenfeld wrote. "If the Blue Jays do indeed decide to deal players way, add Kikuchi to the list since he's heading to free agency."
If the Blue Jays end up moving on from Kikuchi,, hopefully they will be able to at least land a decent prospect that does have some serious potential in the MLB.
