Trey Yesavage has real news on two fronts this week, one on the mound and one much closer to home.
The right-hander is 10 days removed from surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
He suffered the injury in early August, leaving a start against the Astros early after his knee buckled on the mound.
It's his second IL stint this year. Shoulder inflammation delayed his season debut all the way until late April.
When healthy this season, Yesavage has posted a 3.65 ERA with 91 strikeouts across 93.2 innings.
Command has been an issue at times, but the underlying stuff has made him a real weapon for a Blue Jays team that needs him back for October.
He's already begun throwing again this week for the first time since surgery, still hoping to return before the season ends.

On Friday, Yesavage shared something separate from the injury update on Instagram.
He and fiancée Taylor Frick, who he's been engaged to since Nov. 13 of last year, now have a wedding date locked in.
"3 months until I get married to my best friend," Yesavage wrote, alongside a photo from the moment he proposed.
The two met as students at East Carolina University, long before either knew where his career would take him.
Balancing a rehab timeline with wedding planning isn't the easiest combination, but Yesavage seems to be handling both in stride.
Toronto opens a series against the Yankees on Friday, part of the stretch Yesavage is hoping to return for in some capacity.
Whether he's back in a Blue Jays uniform before the wedding, or the ceremony comes first, is a scheduling question only he can answer right now.
