Varsho stated that there is a lot that goes in to making a decision like that as he needs to think of what is best for his family and where he wants to be but added that Toronto has treated his family extremely well.
«There's a lot of different things that go into it,» Varsho told the hosts. «You want to think about your family and what's best for them, and where I want to be, and obviously Toronto is a great place to play. They treat the families really well.» -Varsho
The Blue Jays veteran outfielder also added that he has a number in mind that if the team offers, he would be ready to stay in Toronto for the rest of his career.
«There's always a number in my head, where it's like 'okay if we want to stay here for the rest of my career, that's great,'» said the Marshfield, Wisconsin, native. «It's easy for my family to kind of get here and home. So it's kind of a good spot for us.» -Varsho
Varsho finished by saying that he will certainly listen to the Blue Jays offer is they have one when the time comes.
«We'll see what comes through when extension talks come about we're obviously going to listen.» -Varsho
While it does not seem that Varsho is sold on solely staying in Toronto for his contract extension, he definitely sees staying as a possibility which is a positive.
Varsho still has one more year of arbitration before hitting free agency at the end of the 2026 season so the Blue Jays still have time to think about this.
