Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts held a press conference last night in which he spoke about the match up against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Both the Blue Jays and Dodgers announced their 26-man roster this morning ahead of game 1 which takes place tonight at the Rogers Centre.
Dave Roberts spoke on the Dodgers actually being better than they were last year
Roberts spoke to the media about the Blue Jays being the underdogs in this series stating that Toronto has a very good team and that Los Angeles will not be taking them lightly.
Dave Roberts isn't buying Blue Jays-Dodgers as being a David vs. Goliath matchup.
While this was a very humble statement from Roberts, he also told the media that they team is even better this season than they were last year when they beat the New York Yankees.
The reasoning behind this comment according to Roberts is that Shohei Ohtani is healthy, their starters are in much better shape and the lineup is overall very healthy.
Dave Roberts says the 2025 Dodgers are better than the 2024 Dodgers that went to the World Series:
«Shohei is healthy, the starting staff is in much better shape. Position player wise, we're healthy.»
«Shohei is healthy, the starting staff is in much better shape. Position player wise, we're healthy.»
While Roberts did give the Blue Jays credit for being a solid baseball team, he clearly has a lot of faith in his players.
On paper, the Dodgers have arguably the stronger roster in baseball but at the same time the Blue Jays have been the underdogs all season and have made it to the World Series regardless.
