Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar ripped into general manager Ross Atkins during the World Series broadcast on Sportsnet.
Sportsnet has decide to bring in former fan favorite Kevin Pillar to be part of the panel during the World Series as he has been incredible as he gives a players insight into the game.
Former Blue Jay Kevin Pillar blasts Ross Atkins for trading away Teoscar Hernandez
Pillar was quite open about his thoughts during the game 3 broadcast when speaking of his former teammate Teoscar Hernandez who has been on fire during the World Series. Pillar pointed out that the Blue Jays should have never traded Hernandez back in 2022 but stated that he is happy that he has found success in his new home.
«It's a shame when you have a guy like that in a place like this and (Blue Jays management) decide not to bring him back,» Pillar said. «As a former teammate of his, I'm happy to see him have success. He's in a great place if he wants to win.»
The former Blue Jays outfielder went on to speak of how great he believes Hernandez is and in some aspects he might be even underrated due to everything he can do on a baseball field that might be overlooked sometimes.
«I think he's a tremendous player,» Pillar said of Hernandez. «Teoscar's not just an unbelievable hitter (for) power, average, he's a a sneaky runner. He's one of those players who possesses five tools. He has an unbelievable arm. He has the ability to go get it out there.»
Despite this, the Blue Jays have a chance to right their wrong this off-season as Hernandez is set to become a free agent and is exactly what the Blue Jays need in terms of bringing in offense.
