Former Blue Jays pitcher Tim Mayza finally gets into the World Series and shows out in first appearance

The New York Yankees finally decided to put former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Tim Mayza into the World Series last night during game 4 and he took full advantage of his performance.
Mayza was picked up by the Yankees in early July was he was DFA'd by the Blue Jays after an awful first couple of months into the 2024 but turned it around quite a bit when he arrived in New York earning himself a spot on the World Series roster.

Heading into game 4, the Yankees were down 3-0 in the series and Mayza had yet to be sent to the mound but after a solid effort by New York in game 4, Mayza was sent to pitch to close out the game which he did with a scoreless inning.
The Game 4 win also provided a nice bit of nostalgia for Toronto Blue Jays fans, as it marked the first time that former Jays pitcher Tim Mayza got into a World Series game. Mayza threw a scoreless top of the ninth inning. -Farkas
Despite the 11-4 win last night, the Yankees have quite the uphill battle ahead as they look to be the first team in MLB history to come back from being down 3-0 in a series to win the World Series.
The New York Yankees extended their season on Tuesday night with an 11-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series. The Yankees still trail the series 3-1 and they will look to win again on Wednesday night in Game 5. New York was aided by a five-run eighth inning. -Farkas
Game 5 takes place in New York tonight at 8:08 PM ET as the Dodgers look to close out the series.
