Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jordan Romano has been on fire for the Philadelphia Phillies and has been making Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins look ridiculous.
In the off-season, the Blue Jays decided to non-tender Romano letting walk into free agency as they signed Jeff Hoffman to a three year $33 million deal which has not be looking great so far.

Romano started off the season in a massive slump for the Phillies which made the Blue Jays look great but since then he has been one of if not the best reliever in baseball.
Half way through May, Romano finished with 10 strikeouts, 3 hits, 0 runs in a total of 7 innings pitched for the Phillies and has an ERA of 3.14 in his last 15 games including 7 saves.

Romano's ERA is still at 7.36 this season which is far from great due to his horrible month of April but in the month of May he finished with a 2.53 ERA in 11 games while only allowing 7 hits and 3 runs.

While Romano continues to improve, his replacement, Jeff Hoffman on the other hand has been in a massive slump as he finished the month of May with a 13.50 ERA which is quite the drop from 1.35 in April.
Clearly Romano has been a man on a mission over the last 30 days proving that Atkins made quite the mistake in letting him go this off-season.
