Free agent pitcher Roki Sasaki has announced on Instagram that he has signed his new contract

Many believed that the Blue Jays had a real chance at landing him after they trade for additional international bonus pool money from the Cleveland Guardians but it looks like it was simply not enough.

Blue Jays fans have been wondering if they will finally get their top free agent in Sasaki after rumors stated that he was very interested in joining the Blue Jays but it looks like that will not be happening.

Sasaki took to Instagram moments ago and posted a picture of a Dodgers cap with a caption stating that he has signed with Los Angeles and that it was a very difficult decision to make.

This is terrible news for the Blue Jays who basically took on Myles Straw's contract to land the additional international bonus pool money to sign Sasaki but not they are simply stuck paying Straw close to $12 million over the next two years.

Hopefully the Blue Jays can somehow manage to get a deal done with one of their other free agent targets but it looks like Sasaki was another target that chose to sign elsewhere.

The Dodgers starting rotation now with the addition of Sasaki is one of the strongest rotations in MLB history.
