Incredible update announced regarding Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smacked two doubles in the Toronto Blue Jays' comeback win over the Athletics on Sunday, continuing to pile up extra-base hits at a record-setting pace.
The All-Star first baseman struck out to close the seventh inning, leaving a runner stranded. The A's then tacked on an insurance run in the top of the eighth, putting the Blue Jays in an even tougher spot.

Sam Connon from Fastball On Si writes that Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI's in the game. Per TSN's StatsCentre, it was the 47th time in his career he notched multiple extra-base hits in a single outing, tying him for eighth-most in Blue Jays history.
"Carlos Delgado owns the record with 113 such performances, followed by Vernon Wells, Joe Carter, Jose Bautista, George Bell, Edwin Encarnacion and Lloyd Moseby." -Connon
The 26-year-old slugger has been a consistent presence in Toronto's lineup, appearing in 755 of the team's last 767 games since 2020. That level of durability has given him plenty of chances to rack up games with multiple extra-base hits.
"Guerrero is now batting .283 with eight home runs, 10 doubles, 28 RBIs, an .829 OPS and a 1.7 WAR so far in 2025. The four-time All-Star hit .293 with an .887 OPS between 2021 and 2024, averaging 34 home runs, 35 doubles, 101 RBIs and a 4.6 WAR per year." -Connon
The Blue Jays have a scheduled day off on Monday before kicking off a home series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7:07pm ET.
