John Schneider puts blame on pitchers after loss to the Royals
The Blue Jays had another tough loss as they loss 9-3 to the Royals tonight with ace Kevin Gausman on the mound who had quite an awful night.
After the game,
Scheider pointed out how the Blue Jays have pitchers have been the source of their problems lately especially when it comes to giving up homeruns as they have given up a shocking 16 in their last 5 or 6 games.
ohn Schneider highlighted the long ball as a big reason for the #BlueJays' recent skid:
«I think the biggest thing we've got to get going is on the mound. That's 16 home runs the last five or six games, so it's tough to catch a ball when it's in the seats.»
Gausman had a tough night as he gave up 6 hits including 5 earned runs while striking out 5 batters in that time.
The one bright spot was new addition Louis Varland who gave up 0 hits and 0 earned runs with 1 strikeout in his first inning as a Blue Jay.
Mason Fluharty also had a tough night giving up 4 hits and 4 earned runs with 0 strikeouts in 0.2 innings pitched which was a big part of the loss tonight.
While Schneider's comments may seem harsh to some, others might be happy that he is holding his players accountable since it is clear that the pitchers are not playing well lately.
