MLB insider Shi Davidi who is currently at the annual GM meeting confirmed that multiple agents and rival executives have stated the Toronto Blue Jays have big plans for the off-season.
Shi Davidi states the agents and executives have told him that the Blue Jays plan on spending big this off-season
Davidi recently stated that he has been speaking with a ton of agents and MLB executives at the annual GM meetings and has heard on multiple occasions that the Blue Jays plan on spending big in free agency this year.
Shi Davidi notes that agents have told him that the Blue Jays have been meeting with the top players on the market and that one rival executive:
"insists that they're planning to spend big." #BlueJays
Hopefully this means the Blue Jays have some serious plans to go after big time players in free agency and not only Juan Soto since if they want to fix some of their problems from last season, it will take highly skilled players and not the bottom of the barrel.
The market this winter is filled with talented free agents such as Max Fried, Ha-Seong Kim, Tyler O'Neill, Anthony Santander and many more which means if the Blue Jays miss out of the Soto sweepstakes, there is still a ton of talented players.
It looks like it is up to GM Ross Atkins to make the right moves since the options are there, he just needs to make the right offers.
