After yesterday's game, Gausman jumped into the number 9 spot on the Blue Jays all-time strike out list as he now sits at 694, surpassing J.A Happ and he now sits behind Kelvim Escobar who has 744.
Gausman now has 694 strikeouts as a member of the Jays, who he signed with before the 2022 season. He's behind only Dave Stieb (1,658), Roy Halladay (1,459), Jim Clancy (1,237), Juan Guzman (1,030), Pat Hentgen (1,028), Jimmy Key (944), David Wells (784), and Kelvim Escobar (744). -Farkas
Struggling in his 4 starts prior to today's outing against the Guardians, Kevin Gausman delivered a superb scoreless 8 inning effort where he allowed only 2 hits. Striking out 6 along the way, he moved into 9th all-time on this career list of pitchers with the @BlueJays franchise
While Gausman is clearly not the pitcher he once was as he seems to be declining as he continues to get older, he clearly still has this moments of greatness left in him which the Blue Jays need in the second half of the season.
Despite of all of that, Guasman has clearly put in some serious work for the Blue Jays since 2022 as 694 strikeouts in the MLB is quite the accomplishment in 3 seasons.
