The Toronto Blue Jays are apparently not the only team not interested in signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr for more than $500 million according to the latest update.

News broke earlier this week that the Blue Jays made Guerrero a $500 million offer that he rejected as he was looking for about $50 million more than that which the team was not willing to give.

The New York Mets agree with the Blue Jays that Vladimir Guerrero Jr is not worth $550 million

After the Blue Jays missed on out signing Guerrero to an extension before Spring Training, many believed that teams would be lining up to sign him in free agency but it looks like that might not be the case.
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns is not willing to dish out the kind of money Guerrero is looking for to sign him.
Despite the fact that Guerrero is still just 25-years-old, The New York Post's Jon Heyman says the belief amongst baseball people is that Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns will not dish out the money to ink Guerrero in free agency next year. -Ragazzo

While the Mets are known as a team willing t spend money on top end players, they did just sign Juan Soto to the largest contract in MLB history worth $765 million which is why some might think that they are not looking to spend another $500 million.
After all, the Mets spent $765 million on Soto with the potential future value equating to the $805 million range if Soto decides to exercise his opt-out clause after the fifth season. -Ragazzo

At the same time, it is hard not to think that the since the Mets are always willing to spend on great players, there should be some red flags coming up if they are not willing to spend on Guerrero.
