Ross Atkins makes some outrageous comments regarding the current state of the Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays have had a lot of up and downs so far this season but according to Ross Atkins latest interview, that does not seem to worry him too much.
Atkins has been known for playing down situations over the last few years and even when the Blue Jays are in tough spots, he always states that they will pull through but never seems to have a plan to go with that.

During a recent interview, Atkins was asked about the current state of the Blue Jays as they have pulled out a few wins lately but are still nowhere near a real World Series contender.
Atkins stated that he feels ok with how things are going as the team is showing a lot of good signs with the offense over the last couple of games and that the bullpen is playing very well.
"I feel like we're in an OK position and we've had a lot of good signs," Atkins said. "We've had some good starting pitching efforts, we've had good signs out of our bullpen and some encouraging signs (with) our offence the last couple of days. -Atkins
While Atkins is not wrong with these comments, it feels like he is playing down some of their larger issues like the fact that they still do not have a real replacement for Max Scherzer or that the team's offense has been quite terrible this season.
The Blue Jays GM basically stated that the team is in the current spot they are in due to a difficult schedule and even though they would like to be at the top of the standings, he likes where they are at.
"We'd obviously like to be at the top of the division but we feel given our schedule at the start of the year and some transitions on to the team, that's a fine spot to be in." -Atkins
All of this seems like the usual Atkins comments, as he is always alright with everything and even when the team is underperforming he states that things will change but never speaks of any plans.
