The New York Yankees seem to be very interested in acquiring Blue Jays slugger Justin Turner prior to the trade deadline.

Turner signed a one year deal with the Blue jays in the off-season and has been playing incredibly for a struggling Toronto team.
The Yankees on the other hand have been on fire this season as they lead the AL in wins after their 29th last game.
The Blue Jays will likely be sellers at this year's deadline, meaning that Turner could have a huge upside if he is moved at the deadline. If the Blue Jays were in the NL, they would only be a few games out of a wild card position and would likely make a big push at the deadline to acquire more talent. Unfortunately, they are in the AL and sit near the bottom with not much hope in sight.
"If Toronto was in the National League, its sub-.500 record would still have the team only a few games out of a Wild Card spot," Feinsand said. "In the (American League), however, the Blue Jays are closer to the bottom of the league than a postseason spot, though with three-quarters of the season left, there's plenty of time to turn things around.

The Yankees would be very interested in adding a slugger such as Turner since they have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season but are still seen as serious contenders for the World Series.
The questions now remains, if the Blue Jays do trade Turner to the Yankees, how big will the return be?
