The Toronto Blue Jays had both Myles Straw and Jonatan Clase go down with an injury during yesterday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks but it looks like the injuries might not be too bad after all.
Blue Jays announce surprising update regarding Jonatan Clase and Myles Straw
Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media this afternoon about both outfielders, stating that the team is going to give Straw a few extra days rest but he should be able to avoid IL.
When it comes to Clase, Schneider stated that he is doing alright and should not miss any time as he will be coming off the bench for tonight's game against the Diamondbacks.
The #BlueJays are giving Myles Straw (ankle) another day and John Schneider doesn't think he'll need the IL, but we'll see. Sounds like Jonatan Clase is doing OK, too.
Jonatan Clase (knee) and Myles Straw (ankle) both active today for Jays and considered day to day. Clase available off bench tonight. Straw down today but he's improving & hope is he can avoid IL.
This is huge news for the Blue Jays who looked like they would be down two more outfielders this morning with both Anthony Santander and Daulton Varsho still out on IL.
The Blue Jays are looking for another series win against the Diamondbacks and will have Addison Barger, George Springer and Davis Schneider in the outfield since both Straw and Clase are getting some rest.
