The Toronto Blue Jays have been patiently waiting for all-star George Springer to return to the lineup but there seems to be some issues with his concussion.

The latest update stated that Springer has yet to take the concussion protocol test which is why he had still yet to begin his rehab assignment with the Buffalo Bisons.

Blue Jays announce injury update on George Springer's concussion

Springer was assigned to the Bisons last week but has yet to play his first rehab game in Buffalo while teammate Andres Gimenez has not played three games and is expected to return to the Blue Jays lineup against the Chicago Cubs.
"On Sunday, the Buffalo Bisons, the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate, unveiled its lineup for Sunday's game and Springer - who is on a rehab assignment with the team - was not in the lineup. Another injured Blue Jays starter, second baseman Andrés Giménez, was in the lineup as he continued a rehab assignment." -Postins

According to a recent report, there is a chance that Springer has yet to be cleared from his concussion to return to the field and the Blue Jays likely assigned him to the Bisons too quickly.
"Springer's absence is curious because he was assigned to Buffalo earlier this week to start his rehab. But, given his injury, this could be a case of the Blue Jays just being cautious. Or, it's possible that Springer hasn't been cleared to start rehab yet." -Postins

Manager John Schneider recently stated that Springer has been hitting, running and fielding with the Bisons, adding that he has been feeling much better but it is definitely worrying that he has yet to return to the lineup.
"He's feeling better every day," Schneider said. "He's hitting, running, today he's taking fly balls off a bat in the outfield. As soon as he can get clearance from the MLB, (he'll) probably play in a game, see how he feels and go from there."-Schneider

The Blue Jays got the win yesterday against the Los Angeles Dodgers but have hit a rough patch over the last few series since Springer went down apart from the historic series against the Colorado Rockies.
Hopefully the Blue Jays will be able to finally get Springer back in the coming week.
