The Toronto Blue Jays announced some shocking roster moves this afternoon as pitcher Bowden Francis has been placed on IL.
The Blue Jays biggest problem lately has been Francis who cannot seem to find his game but it looks like he might have been dealing with an injury this entire time as he is now headed for IL.
Blue Jays announce Bowden Francis is headed for IL while Erik Swanson has been DFA'd
The Blue Jays shocked their fans this afternoon as they announced that
Francis has been placed on 15 day IL with a right shoulder impingement which is the first time that any problems have been mentioned.
Another roster move that the Blue Jays made was announcing that Swanson has been DFA'd while Paxton Schultz and Justin Bruihl have been called up from Triple-A.
News: The #BlueJays have placed Bowden Francis on the 15-day IL with a «right shoulder impingement»
Erik Swanson has been designated for assignment.
RHP Paxton Schultz and LHP Justin Bruihl are up from AAA.
Fans are quite pumped regarding these moves since Swanson was atrocious lately on the mound since returning from IL while getting
Francis out of the starting rotation will only help.
All necessary moves. Chad Green you're next.
While Francis seems to be dealing with a shoulder injury which is why he was placed on IL, fans have a hard time believing it but do expect him to be out for a long period of time.
Classifying Bowden's "injury" as a shoulder impingement is interesting. Same "injury" as Yimi. Typically a long term absence.
I suspect he'll head down to Dunedin and get some work in the development lab much like Manoah did in 2023.
Hopefully this time off will help Francis get back into the same form he was in last season.
