The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be looking to be buyers at the trade deadline but that does not mean they will not be moving some big pieces like veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt.
Bassitt has been surrounded by trade rumors all season as he is currently in the final year of his contract and it looks like he will likely be moved at the deadline since the team is not expected to re-sign him.

According to reports, one of the Blue Jays most valuable assets with the trade deadline approaching is veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt who is in the final year of his contract.
Veteran right-hander Chris Bassitt may be one of the top trade chips at the trade deadline, according to Zachary Rotman of FanSided. -Radosevich
It is believed that when the deadline arrives, Bassitt will be the top pitcher available which means that the Blue Jays will likely be able to get a solid return for him even if he would only be a rental for the acquiring team.
«With most of the league needing starting pitching help, Bassitt, as potentially the best pitcher on the market, should be able to net Toronto an excellent return,» -Rotman
Bassitt has had a lot of up and downs this season but has been the most consistent pitchers on the Blue Jays starting rotation which is why seeing him go would also creating some possible issues.
So far this season, Bassitt has a 3.80 ERA in 66.1 innings pitched to go along with 69 strikeouts, a 5-3 record and a 1.36 WHIP.
The veteran's pitcher ERA would be much higher on the season if it was not for a couple rough starts over his last couple of games.
If the Blue Jays do end up moving him at the deadline, they would need to have Max Scherzer back in the rotation or receive another starting pitcher in exchange.
