Morale has certainly lifted since the Blue Jays extended Vladimir Guerrero Jr. earlier this month. However, the team's big hitters, including Guerrero, haven't been pulling their weight to lead the team to victories.

The Toronto Blue Jays' lack of power at the plate may lead to some big roster changes coming to the team real soon.

Eric Treuden of Just Baseball suggested that the Blue Jays might be looking to acquire a strong hitter at the trade deadline, given the struggles of the usual top three hitters in their lineup.
"To put it simply, the Blue Jays have a decent starting lineup but there's far too much pressure on the trio of Bo Bichette, Anthony Santander, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to prop the team up with home runs. To this point, this group has a combined three home runs and the team as a whole sits 29th in the game with 13 home runs." -Treuden

Jackson Roberts from The Sporting News writes that there aren't many strong hitters likely to be available at the trade deadline. Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox is currently in a significant slump, and most of the other hitters on expiring contracts are more known for their contact or speed rather than power.
"The Blue Jays are another team that's going to need to get bold at the trade deadline. They proved that they have deep pockets by locking up Guerrero for life, but they need to continue to show they mean business by landing a big bat (or even two!) at the deadline." -Roberts

As the season moves forward and teams start to fall out of contention, more potential sellers will emerge. The Blue Jays could find that missing piece to bolster their offense, whether it's a power bat or someone who can provide a spark in other areas.
