The Toronto Blue Jays seem to have some big plans for the trade deadline this year and it looks like GM Ross Atkins will be discussing those plans with the media this afternoon.
Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins is set to meet with the media this afternoon
MLB insider Ben Nicholson-Smith announced this morning that Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins is set to meet with the media this afternoon to discuss the team's plans heading into the trade deadline.
Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins will address the media this afternoon at Rogers Centre. Regularly scheduled availability where we should learn a little more about the team's plans for the next month or so.
When the news broke regarding this press conference, fans already seem to feel like they will not be getting a ton of answers from Atkins as he is known for generalizing and not really telling the media anything.
Over / Under 2.5 times Ross Atkins says "we like our process"
I hope Ross Atkins has something planned before the end of July.
The Blue Jays are just three games out of the AL East right now. They've been having some good news from the farm, so they'll potentially have the tools to go out and make a splash.
Hopefully Atkins gives fans some kind of insight into the team's plans for the next month but there is a chance that he really only states things that everyone already knows.
As long as the Blue Jays end up going through with acquiring a starting pitcher, the majority of the fan base will be pleased with the trade deadline.
