The Toronto Blue Jays put on a dominant display Thursday night, crushing the Athletics 12-0 at Rogers Center.
The offensive explosion was highlighted by an eight-run second inning, and home runs from Ernie Clement and Bo Bichette.

Ayomide P. Adeduyite from Athlon Sports writes that Clement drive in five runs and Bichette chipped in with three RBI's, helping power the Blue Jays to their second straight shutout victory.
"On the mound, José Berrios (2-2) led the charge, allowing just two hits over six scoreless innings. Relievers Mason Fluharty and José Ureña completed the four-hit shutout, marking the Blue Jays' fourth shutout victory of the season-all occurring since May 20." -Adeduyite
With this dominant victory, the Blue Jays made MLB history by becoming just the third team ever to record three shutout wins of 12 or more runs in a single calendar month. The only other team to achieve this were the Philadelphia Phillies in September 1899 and the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers in August 1886.

With this latest victory, the Blue Jays evened their record at 28-28, hitting the .500 mark for the season. They currently hold third place in the American League East. sitting six games behind the division-leading New York Yankees.
The Blue Jays will look to keep their momentum going as they face the Athletics again Friday night at Rogers Center in the second game of their four-game series. Toronto aims to strengthen their standing with another strong performance.
