Blue Jays release outfielder Devonte Brown
The Blue Jays decided to release
Brown from his contract making him once again a free agent after bouncing around between Single-A and Triple-A throughout the 2025 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays released OF Devonte Brown.
This decision comes as a bit of a surprise since Brown was called up to Triple-A on August 1st and put up some decent numbers in the 9 games he played but still ended up being released.
Brown had 5 hits including 1 homerun and 2 RBIs with a .238 batting average and .273 on base percentage in 9 games with 21 at bats for the Bisons.
DEVONTE BROWN.
HIS FIRST TRIPLE-A HOME RUN
The Blue Jays signed Brown back in 2022 to a minor league contract after he went undrafted following his college career at North Carolina State and he has been progressing within the organization over the last few seasons.
Brown is only 25 years old and has shown that he has a lot of potential which means he should be able to find himself a new minor league deal before the end of the season.
While this is an interesting move, the Blue Jays clearly had their reasons to part ways with the young outfielder.
