Things have now gone from bad to worse for Rodriguez

The Blue Jays announced yesterday morning that pitcher Yariel Rodriguez had been taken off the IL and was going to be pitching vs the Guardians.

Rodriguez did incredibly well during his rehab starts which made Blue Jays management believe he was ready to return. Unfortunately it seems as though he was not since he lasted 1.1 innings against the Guardians giving up 2 hits, 4 earned runs and only striking out 1 batter.

Blue Jay Yariel Rodriguez is too good for the minors, but not the Guardians. Signing him was still worth the risk

This is the worst possible scenario for a pitcher coming off injury as Rodriguez confidence is now in the gutter after only pitching 1 full inning in his first game back.
