Toronto Blue Jays former MVP Joey Votto played in his first game as a Blue Jay today in which he hit a home run on the first pitch he saw.
Unfortunately, the Blue Jays announced that Votto was supposed to play 5 innings but only played 1 after injuring himself in the dugout by tripping over a bat.
Joey Votto had originally planned to play five innings today, not one.
«I accidentally stepped on a bat in the dugout, rolled my ankle and it hurt like the dickens.»
He expects that tomorrow's off day will be enough, then he'll be back at it. #BlueJays

Thankfully it does not seem to be anything serious, Votto will rest tomorrow and should be healthy afterwards.
