The Toronto Blue Jays announce right before their game against the St Louis Cardinals that outfielder Nathan Lukes was pulled from the lineup at the last minute due to an injury.
Blue Jays announce injury update on outfielder Nathan Lukes
Lukes was originally in the Blue Jays lineup for last night's game but was pulled right before the start due to a neck injury according to multiple reports in which Alan Roden replaced him.
Nathan Lukes was removed from the starting lineup with neck discomfort. Alan Roden replaces him in RF.
According to Blue Jays reporter Hazel Mae, Lukes sustained an injury in a game against the Minnesota Twins and has not been able to shake the pain in his neck which is why he sat out.
I'm told Lukes is still feeling lingering effects of the collision he had with teammate Ernie Clement in Minnesota.
Hopefully Lukes only needed a day or two of rest and will be able to jump right back into the lineup because with Anthony Santander still out, the Blue Jays need him playing.
The Blue Jays simply cannot seem to shake the injuries off this year as it seems like almost every player has gone down for a few games this season.
