Toronto Blue Jays Ernie Clement has some absurd words for Bo Bichette

Bichette has definitely had a bounce back season in 2025 but despite that he has definitely struggled in terms of defense as his numbers have not been great but not according to Ernie Clement.

It is no secret in Toronto that Bichette is far from a defensive powerhouse as he has been severely criticized over the span of his career for his fielding at shortstop but has yet to lose his spot since entering the league.

During a recent interview, Ernie Clement had some absurd words for Bichette as he stated his teammate is great defensively which is quite far fetched when looking at the stats.

So far this season Bichette's fielding percentage is at .972 which is quite below the league average at .975 among shortstops and it has not been this low since 202 when his fielding percentage was at .958.

While Bichette has had quite the season this year offensively after struggling last year as he currently has 6 homeruns with 30 RBIs and a .277 batting average which is miles ahead of where he was last year but his fielding continues to struggle.

Clement's words are nice for his fellow teammate as he is clearly showing that he is in his corner but at the same time it is hard to take them seriously when looking at the stats.

Hoping these comments end up becoming true at the end of the season but as of right now they unfortunately are not.
