The Toronto Blue Jays decide to tender pitcher Zach Pop a contract last night right before the non-tender deadline and fans are not happy with the move.

The Blue Jays decided to non-tender Jordan Romano and Dillon Tate which came as a bit of a surprise as they are now free agents but decided to hold on to relief pitcher Zach Pop.

Blue Jays fans cannot believe the team decided to keep pitcher Zach Pop

Just prior to the non-tender deadline, the Blue Jays announce that all player that were eligible were tendered a contract apart from Romano and Tate which means Pop was also tendered.

The #BlueJays announced they've agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with Erik Swanson (which avoids arbitration).

Jordan Romano and Dillon Tate were non-tendered.

All other players were tendered contracts, including Zach Pop.

Fans could not believe that the Blue Jays decided to tender a contract to Pop even if it is only a one year $1 million deal since he was by far the bullpen's worst pitcher last season.

it should've been zach pop non tendered, not romano
I will always love this man. Romano single handedly carried the bullpen through some seasons. Please get healthy. To all the fans who under appreciated him, get ready to watch Zach Pop hold a one run lead to snap a 6 game losing streak.
Zach pop isn't good this isn't 2021

Pop had a terrible season in 2024 as he was option to Triple-A multiple times and finished the season with a 2-4 record to go along with a 5.59 ERA in 48.1 innings pitch in the majors.
