The Toronto Blue Jays are gearing up for a big trade deadline as they are looking to make a big push for the playoffs which is why it looks like they are interested in Atlanta Braves pitcher Chris Sale.
The Blue Jays having been one of the best teams in the MLB over the last few weeks but their weakest link is still in their starting rotation which is why many expect them to trade for a starting pitcher.

Sale is currently in the last year of his contract with the Braves and since it looks like they will probably miss the playoffs this season, they will likely look to deal him before the trade deadline.
According to reports, the Blue Jays could be interested in trading for Sale since he is affordable and is exactly what they need in terms of a reliable starting pitcher to add to their rotation.
Chris Sale is on the last year of his contract (team option for 2026) and even though he is a Cy Young candidate, Atlanta should be trying to get some prospects out of him. The veteran southpaw should be affordable for Toronto too as their farm system has gotten better over the years. -Dionis
While Sale is on the back end of his career and coming off Tommy John surgery many thought he would not be as great this season but he has proven everyone wrong as he currently has a 2.79 ERA with a 4-4 record and 107 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched.
The Braves would likely want a solid prospect in return which is why there has been discussions regarding possibly trading infielder Josh Krasevich in return since Atlanta is looking to improve at the shortstop position.

Adding Sale to their starting rotation would be incredible right before the playoffs even if they have to give up a solid prospect in return.
