Toronto Blue Jays manager announces when Max Scherzer will make first start since April
The Toronto Blue Jays have been waiting quite some time for Max Scherzer to return to the lineup and that time is finally coming according to John Schneider.
Scherzer has been slowly ramping up to make his return as he recently pitched a few sim games which has led to him finally making his first rehab appearance in the minors.
John Schneider announces Max Scherzer is set his first rehab start this week
The Blue Jays announced some massive news regarding Scherzer this afternoon as Scherzer is expected to have a few more bullpen sessions this week followed by a start in for the Bisons on Friday.
Scherzer is expected to make at least two rehab starts in Triple-A before returning to the Blue Jays according to manager John Schneider.
Max Scherzer feeling good. Bullpen session slated for Tuesday or Wednesday tentatively followed by 60-65 pitch start at AAA Friday. Would likely need 2+ rehab starts before rejoining Jays.
Max Scherzer is on track to make a rehab start Friday for the AAA Buffalo Bisons.
After that, he'll need at least one more rehab outing, John Schneider says. #BlueJays
This is massive for the Blue Jays which means that
Scherzer could be back in the starting rotation as early as next week finally putting an end to all of their struggles with trying to find his replacement.
Hopefully everything goes well with Scherzer's rehab starts over the next week and fans will be cheering him on before they know it.
This is a very important week for the Blue Jays starting rotation.
