Toronto Blue Jays fans have been waiting a long time for pitcher Alek Manoah to return to the lineup and it looks like that day is finally on it's way.
Update announce on Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah
Manoah has been out since last season recovering from Tommy John surgery and it looks like he is continuing to progress at a good rate which might end up having back on the mound sooner than expected.
During a recent interview, Keegan Matheson stated that Manoah is currently throwing bullpen sessions in Florida but as of right now, August 1st can be seen as a rough return date for the Blue Jays pitcher.
"Right now he's throwing bullpens down in Florida. Pretty soon he'll start facing live hitters. Keep Aug. 1 as a very rough date in your mind," -Matheson
Matheson added that it has been quite a while since Manoah's dominant season back in 2022 but that there is still a lot of belief that he could pull through and be that pitcher again.
"It's been a while since Manoah was an effective MLB starter, but we all know he would lean right into that narrative, and I think he could be the guy to do it," -Matheson
If the Blue Jays can get just a version of the pitcher was during the 2022 season, their starting rotation will benefit extremely from that as he was phenomenal during that year.
On the other hand, if Manoah returns to the way he pitched in 2023, they will basically have another problem when it comes to their starting rotation.
Hopefully
Manoah will be ready for the start of August then fans will see if he was able to fully recover from his injury.
