Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a new look this offseason, and Blue Jays fans can't stop sharing it. A photo of the slugger with pink hair is making the rounds online.
The picture spread quickly across social media this week. Whatever is behind the colour change, it's easily the most talked-about Vladdy moment since the season ended.
Credit him for keeping things light. After the year he just had, nobody would blame him for hiding out until spring training.
The 2026 season was the worst of his career. He hit just nine home runs with a .688 OPS, including only one homer at Rogers Centre.
His winter has already been busy. He underwent laser eye surgery at the Laser Eye Center of Miami, which said he was "doing great" at his post-op visit.
The photo shows Guerrero with his hair dyed pink, a far cry from the familiar look fans are used to seeing in the batter's box.
Vladdy's pink hair is a fun distraction from a serious offseason
Joey Votto recently offered his own fix for the slump. He told Guerrero to "just watch your dad," calling Vladimir Guerrero Sr. "textbook for what kind of hitter you should be."
Ross Atkins has also said he's "very confident he will be back." The 27-year-old heads into year two of his $500 million extension next season.
Does a new hair colour change anything at the plate? Of course not, but a relaxed Guerrero might be a better one.
Atkins pointed to confidence as part of the problem. Once his timing slipped early in the year, the GM said, in-season adjustments "became very difficult."
This is the kind of loose energy the Blue Jays need from their franchise player. A guy who can have fun in October might be ready to swing freely in March.
It's like repainting the front door after a rough year. It doesn't fix the foundation, but it tells the neighbours you aren't hiding.
The real work still has to happen in the cage. Sharper eyesight and a fresh look won't matter if the barrel doesn't get out front again.
For now, fans get a laugh and a viral photo. Come spring, they'll want to see the pink-haired slugger launching baseballs into the 500 level instead of all over the internet.
