Kodai Senga and the Blue Jays are suddenly tied to a trade idea that would ask Toronto to pay a steep price for rotation help.

That is the key part of the Heavy report. This is not a live deal or even a report that talks are happening. It is a trade prediction built around Toronto's early pitching injury pressure.
A recent mock proposal that would send Senga from the Mets to the Blue Jays. In that version, Toronto would give up JoJo Parker, Ricky Tiedemann and Johnny King.
From a Blue Jays angle, the package is where the real tension starts. Parker and Tiedemann are not throw-in names, and that makes this a much heavier question than a simple depth move.
Heavy framed the setup around 4 notable Blue Jays starters being on the injured list, though it also noted that José Berrios, Trey Yesavage and Shane Bieber are not viewed as long-term cases. That makes the proposal feel aggressive right out of the gate.
Senga is 33 and signed a 5-year, $75 million contract before coming to MLB. Senga owns a 3.00 ERA over 54 career starts, with health standing as the main concern around his value.
For Toronto, that is the push and pull. Senga is good enough to matter, but the injury history and the prospect bill both hit hard.

The price looks too sharp for Toronto right now

This is where the idea gets tough to sell on a Blue Jays site. Heavy described Tiedemann as a pitcher who figures to reach the majors this season, while Parker was identified as Toronto's No. 2 prospect by MiLB.com.
That is a lot of future value to move for a starter with risk attached. Johnny King only adds to the weight of the ask, because then the deal stops looking like a win-now adjustment and starts looking like a real system hit.
Heavy even raised doubt from the Mets side. The piece said New York may be leaning on Senga too heavily in its own rotation to seriously consider moving him.
So even before Toronto decides whether the price is too rich, there is a fair question about whether the Mets would actually want to open that door. That weakens the whole pitch.
The Blue Jays can talk themselves into needing another arm. They should have a much harder time talking themselves into moving Parker and Tiedemann for a pitcher who brings both quality and medical worry.
That is why this lands more as a debate piece than a real Toronto path. Senga is the kind of starter any contender would notice, but the proposed cost feels too high for a club that still needs to protect its next wave.
