Aaron Boone takes unexpected jab at the Toronto Blue Jays over ALDS

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone took an unexpected jab at the Toronto Blue Jays over the ALDS during a recent interview.
The Blue Jays and Yankees had a hard fought battle in the ALDS but it was that series win that propelled Toronto and gave them the momentum which led to their World Series appearance.
Aaron Boone believes the Blue Jays did not have much on the Yankees
Boone recently had an interview in which he spoke about the ALDS between the Blue Jays and Yankees stating that Toronto did not have that much better of a season as the series was tied up at one point and they finished with the same record.
At the end of the day we, we ended up knotted with them,» Boone said of the Jays during his media availability here at baseball's Winter Meetings, which continue on Tuesday. «I mean, we ended with identical records last year. -Boone
The Yankees manager then covered his tracks a bit by saying that he did not want to discount that they beat them in the playoff but added that the gap is small between the two team and thinks the Yankees are still a great team.
I don't want to discount that they kicked our ass last year. Don't take it out of context. I would say the gap is small. We have the exact same record. But they obviously were a great team, an eyelash away from winning the world championship. -Boone
Boone gave a very simple answer for how they Yankees will beat the Blue Jays next year, he stated that they just need to play better than them.
Playing better against them is the real simple answer -Boone
While Boone did some kind of credit to Toronto, he clearly is not too fond of how things ended in the playoffs and still believe in the Yankees roster despite them not doing much so far this off-season.
As both the Baltimore Orioles and Blue Jays continue to add massive pieces to their lineup, it will be interesting to see how New York bounces back next season in a stacked AL East.
