The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen arms are significantly underperforming this season, ranking 30th in three main areas that indicate a rough road ahead.

Blue Jays Bullpen this year:
- 5.31 ERA, 30th among 30 MLB teams
- 5.28 FIP, 30th
- 1.65 HR/9, 30th
- 9.1 K%-BB%, 25th

It is clear that the Jays are struggling to get runs on the board with an underperforming offence, but what used to save the lack of production was strong outings and arms out of the bullpen. This isn't the case this season.

The relievers in the Bullpen are not saving strong starts from starters when the Blue Jays get it. They rank at the bottom of the league in ERA (5.31), give up the third most homeruns per 9 innings, and have one of the worst strikeout rates at 9.1%.

It has become a joke online where memes are now being made about certain pitchers coming into save or take over for starting pitchers. Erik Swanson seems to be taking the brunt of the ridicule.

Every Blue Jays fan when Erik Swanson is put in a leverage spot. #TOTHECORE
If you cant score a lot of runs and you need to close out close games and aren't getting it, its impossible to win. The Bullpen needs to be better, or else it is going to be a long season.
