Blue Jays are in serious trouble after yesterday
The Blue Jays completed the sweep against the White Sox yesterday in a 3-1 win but in the second inning, pitcher Alek Manoah had to leave the game with an injury.
This is awful timing as Manoah has just returned from an injury and it looks to be the same problem again.
While Kevin Gausman, Chris Bassitt, Yusei Kikuchi and Jose Berrios have all been playing very well this season it has been the rest of the lineup that has struggled and now with Manoah out once again, it will be hard to replace him.
If the Blue Jays are lucky one of their rehabbing pitcher such as Bowden Francis or Yariel Rodriguez will be back sooner than expected. If they do not come back soon, the Blue Jays will be forced to use Trevor Richards and if not the only other option on the 40 man roster is Paolo Espino. Espino has 4.81 ERA in 8 starts so far this season with the Bisons.
Clearly this injury to Manoah comes at the worst possible time for the Jays and hopefully by some miracle, one of their injured starters will be back soon.
