The Blue Jays announced the signing of another pitcher to a minor league deal, this time it is James Kaprielian and he will be assigned to Triple-A to start.

Kaprielian was a 16th overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft by the Yankees but was traded to Oakland where he made his debut in 2020.

The 30 year-old pitcher last played for the Athletics in 2023 posting a 2-6 record with 6.34 ERA in 61 innings pitched with 57 strikeouts. Kaprielian had a promising future in the MLB but has dealt with multiple injuries over the course of his career.

Depending on how he does in triple-A, the Blue Jays may have found another pitcher to help out while their main players recover from injuries.
