Overall, the Toronto Blue Jays had a fantastic night on Monday as they defeated the Seattle Mariners in their home opener, 5-2.

Heading into Monday's home opener, the Blue Jays needed a win. They had lost two games in a row to the New York Yankees, and their offense was in desperate need of some sort of pick me up. Well, they got just that thanks to a lineup that was dictated by performance, and not analytics.

For instance, according to MLB Stats, Davis Schneider shined in the game as he had two hits and two RBI. Meanwhile, pitcher Jose Berrios had an incredibly strong evening as he pitched a shutout through six innings. It was the perfect way for the Blue Jays to open their season in Toronto, and the fans were loving it.
