Blue Jays keen on signing Cuban pitcher Silvano Hechavarria

With the season under way, the Toronto Blue Jays are looking to bolster their roster, and it seems like they are trying to sign Cuban pitcher Silvano Hechavarria in the process.

This news from reporter Yordano Carmona, who revealed that the Blue Jays would be looking to sign Hechevarria sometime in January. This would come with a $250,000 signing bonus for the 21-year-old. However, it is unknown what his role would be with the team, right out of the gate. Either way, it does feel like the Blue Jays are committed to improving.





This news come on the same day that the team is gearing up to take on the Seattle Mariners in their home opener. Both of these teams sit at records of 4-6, which is certainly not what fans were hoping for. They need a huge injection of offense, and there is no telling whether or not they can get it.
