With the season under way, the Toronto Blue Jays are looking to bolster their roster, and it seems like they are trying to sign Cuban pitcher Silvano Hechavarria in the process.
"Per @YordiMLB, Cuban pitcher Silvano Hechavarra (21) is expected to sign next January with the Toronto Blue Jays for a signing bonus of approximately $250,000. His four-pitch repertoire includes a fastball maxing out at 96 MPH, a curveball, changeup, and slider. Silvano played for the Havana Industriales and had a 4.09 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 42.1 innings."
This news come on the same day that the team is gearing up to take on the Seattle Mariners in their home opener. Both of these teams sit at records of 4-6, which is certainly not what fans were hoping for. They need a huge injection of offense, and there is no telling whether or not they can get it.
