Toronto announced after the game that Kikuchi's 7 strikeouts yesterday moved him into 6th for most strikeouts by a Japanese born player.

This is an impressive accomplishment for Kikuchi since there has been so many great Japanese pitchers throughout the years. The leader for most strikeouts by a Japanese player is Yu Darvish who passed Hideo Nomo last season.
