The Toronto Blue Jays had another brutal loss against the Los Angeles Angels last night and John Schneider spoke on Jeff Hoffman blowing another game after the loss.
This is the second game in a row that the Blue Jays blow a late game lead which resulted in a loss with Hoffman on the mound trying to close the game out which is out of character for him.
Blue Jays John Schneider comments on Jeff Hoffman blowing another game
Hoffman has been stellar for the Blue Jays so far this season but over the last two games he has blown two leads which has resulted in tough losses for the Blue Jays against the Angels.
After the loss last night, Schneider stated that Hoffman has had a tough stretch over the last two games but that he has been incredible for the team this season and that they still have a ton of faith in him.
Schneider: "This is a (crappy) stretch ... Guys are feeling it, but we're in a position to win every game. Hoff is such a big part of what we're doing this year It happens to closers. It sucks when it happens back to back. Tough couple outings, but he's been lights out for us»
Hoffman spoke to the media as well after the game stating that he feels fine but that he has had trouble locating pitches over the last few games which is why he is going to try and focus on improving that.
Jeff Hoffman says he feels fine physically but didn't locate some of his pitches well enough tonight. "I'll put a focus on that & try to do better next time.»
John Schneider: «I feel like we've been operating with three round wheels & one square wheel.»
The Blue Jays bullpen is in a rough spot right now because if Hoffman is not at the top of his game, the team struggles because they do not really have any other solid options right now.
