Blue Jays reliever Tim Mayza took the mound against the Yankees yesterday and things went quite terribly.
Mayza gave up 5 hits and 5 earned runs without even getting an out in the inning. Schneider told reporters after the game that he was trying new things that his velocity has been inconsistent.
Asked John Schneider about Tim Mayza after today's outing:
βHe's trying new things with a little cutter. His velocity comes and goes. In today's game, you need that, and it's been inconsistent for him.β #BlueJays

Clearly the front office was not happy with his performance as his ERA is now at 8.03 and he was DFA'd this morning by the Jays.
