The Toronto Blue Jays have been having a tough time lately and are currently on a four game losing streak which manager John Schneider is not too thrilled about.
The Blue Jays had Jose Berrios on the mound yesterday and had a brilliant performance but it went all to waste as the team blew their lead in the ninth inning for their fourth loss in a row.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider comments on the Blue Jays current losing streak
The Blue Jays have had a tough stretch lately as they only have four wins in their last 16 games and currently sit 4 1/2 games out of first place with a 16-20 record on the season.
It's one step forward, two steps back for these Blue Jays, who now sit 4 1/2 games out of first place at 16-20. They had won three games in a row as of Friday, but they've now dropped their last four, two of which they led in the ninth inning. -Roberts
After the game last night, manager John Schenider spoke on the loss stating that they Blue Jays are currently in a sh**ty stretch but that the team is at least in a position to win every game.
After the game, Schneider seemed to let some of his emotions out, giving a colorful response to the team's current four-game losing streak.
«This is a sh-y stretch,» Schneider said, per Mitch Bannon of The Athletic. «It's a tough stretch. You know, guys are feeling it, but we're in position to win every game.» -Schneider
While the Blue Jays have been competing in most games even though they are losing, the real problem is that they cannot seem to close out games as they have blown multiple leads.
The Blue Jays need to figure things out and quickly if they want to turn their season around because as things stand, they have no chance of making it deep in the playoffs or even making the playoffs at this point.
