Toronto Blue Jays owner Edward Rogers spoke to the media recently and touched on the current negotiations with Bo Bichette.

There has been a lot of rumors flying around lately regarding Bichette as some believe he will be returning while others believe he will sign elsewhere but a recent update spoke on Toronto bring him back on a deal worth more than $200 million.

Edward Rogers gives insight on Bo Bichette negotiations

Rogers spoke to the media about the new deal with Mark Shapiro and also touched on the ongoing negotiations with Bichette.
During the interview, Rogers stated that Toronto is Bichette's home and that the team wants to remain competitive but added that he is not part of making the decision on if he will come back or not.
Bo has been a part of this team throughout his career, it's home for him, and I'm hopeful we have the best, most competitive team we can, I'm not part of that decision making, that's (general manager) Ross (Atkins) and Mark and we're working hard to try to figure that out. -Rogers

Rogers also stated that Bichette was great for the Blue Jays in the playoffs but then strangely added that the team has great depth and that played a big role in making it to the World Series.
I'd say what we saw through the playoffs was that Bo performed well through the World Series run, but so many of our players came up, and I find teams that have deep bonds, obviously the stars shine, but a lot of other people need to shine to be a competitive team and we have amazing depth. -Rogers

While Rogers clearly did not want to give away too many details, it almost sounded like he was saying that it would be great to have Bichette back but that the team will be fine if they decide to go a different path.
As time continues to move on in the off-season, it seems like Bichette returning to Toronto is less and less likely by the day.
